- Business name, business category, and website
- Password (stored as a secure hash — never in plain text)
- Subscription and billing information
WhatsApp Business Data:
- Your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) ID and phone number IDs
- Message templates you create and submit for Meta approval
- Messages sent and received through our platform
- Contact names and phone numbers you add
- Broadcast campaign data and delivery statistics
Technical Data:
- IP address, browser type, device information
- Usage logs, error reports, and performance data
- Cookies and session tokens for authentication
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the WapiConnect platform
- Process and deliver WhatsApp messages on your behalf
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send service-related notifications (not marketing, unless you opt in)
- Respond to your support requests and inquiries
- Monitor platform abuse, fraud, and policy violations
- Comply with legal obligations under applicable laws
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve our product
We will never use your data for advertising purposes or sell it to third parties.
3. WhatsApp & Meta Data
WapiConnect integrates with the Meta WhatsApp Business Cloud API. When you connect your WhatsApp Business Account:
- You authorize WapiConnect to send and receive messages on your behalf
- Message content is transmitted through Meta's infrastructure and subject to Meta's Business Policy
- Your phone numbers and WABA IDs are stored to maintain the connection
- We receive webhook events (incoming messages, delivery receipts) from Meta
Your end-customer contacts' phone numbers are stored solely to enable messaging functionality. We do not contact your customers independently.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Meta/WhatsApp: Required to deliver messages via the WhatsApp Business API
- Hosting providers: Our servers are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure
- Payment processors: For subscription billing (we do not store card details)
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority
- Business transfers: If WapiConnect is acquired, data may transfer to the new owner under the same privacy commitments
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any unauthorized third parties.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- All data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords are hashed using secure algorithms (bcrypt)
- API tokens and secrets are encrypted at rest
- Access to production systems is restricted and logged
- Regular security updates and vulnerability assessments
While we take strong precautions, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Message logs: Retained for 90 days by default (configurable on paid plans)
- Billing records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax laws
- Analytics data: Retained in aggregate form indefinitely
When you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
